National Security Agency Release of 6 June 2007
On June 6, 2007, the National Security Agency released the remainder of its classified documents relating to the Liberty incident. The release is voluminous and contains much interesting amplification of prior material but contains nothing new.
Some Liberty conspiracy story supporters have made totally false claims about the content of this release. One claim is the release contains audio tape intercepts proving the attack was deliberate.
A careful review of all the released material will confirm that it does not include any audio tape intercepts. The only intercepts released by NSA were part of the July 2, 2003 release and can be examined at nsa.gov. Likewise, the 2007 release may be viewed at nsa.gov.
