REPORTS HAVE REACHED DOD THAT SOME FORM OF CENSORSHIP
MAY HAVE BEEN IMPOSED ON REPORTERS WITH THE SIXTH FLEET. NO
AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GRATED FOR THE IMPOSITION OF CENSORSHIP.
COMMANDERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING SECURITY AT THE
SOURCE. IN THE EVENT SOME FORM OF CENSORSHIP HAS BEEN IMPOSED
IT SHOULD BE ELIMINATED AT ONCE, PARTICULARLY IN VIEW OF
AMBASSADOR GOLDBERG'S CARTE BLANCH INVITATION TO U.N. MEMBERS TO
INSPECT THE FLEET. THIS DISCREPANCY HAS ALREADY BEEN POINTED
OUT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE BY THE GENERAL MANGER OF
ASSOCIATED PRESS AND OTHERS.
